242 is a cast aluminum alloy consisting of 0.7% silicon, 1% iron, 3.5 to 4.5% copper, 1.7 to 2.3% nickel, 1.2 to 1.8% magnesium, 0.35% zinc, 0.25% titanium, and 0.35% manganese. 242 is commonly used to make aluminum parts where higher temperature strength and reduced thermal expansion are required.

We’re capable of handling 242 alloy casting jobs from one to thousands of pieces, and 242 castings between half an ounce and over 100 pounds. We also cast a variety of other nonferrous metals.
